"The View from Baker Beach"

This is actually an animated pic, but Gumroad doesn't support video...so you can catch the animation on my Instagram or Patreon.

This is my first real attempt at an animated piece! It's harder than I thought it would be, but I learned a lot and am excited to do more animation in the future. This is kind of an experiment to see if the style translates well in motion...and it kind of does?

The movement reveals the underlying 3D structure of the image and now it's uncanny again. I wonder how to overcome that...

You might recognize this fella from my last two images. He's been very popular on Instagram so it seemed fitting to give him a pin-up. I have a bit more control working with stills than animated, so I made stills from my two favorite shots.

Environment Design

This is a real place! Following my other pics in San Francisco, some locals suggested I do an image at the Baker Beach. Besides having excellent views of the Golden Gate Bridge, it's a famous nude beach. Seems like just the spot for this guy to sun after work.

Not a lot to talk about with this. It was more for me to learn how to animate with my new workflow. Thank you for subscribing, I hope you enjoy it!!
